Dear PACT Families,
As we wrap up the first week of school, I’m reminded of what makes PACT an exceptional place for students. At PACT, character development and high academic expectations go hand in hand. We want our students to work hard, challenge themselves, and grow academically, while also developing the character that will help them become thoughtful, responsible, and contributing members of society. Attributes such as patience, integrity, and cooperation are not simply words we teach; they are qualities we strive to live out every day. That responsibility belongs to all of us as adults as well. Our students are watching how we respond when things go well and, perhaps even more importantly, how we respond when they don’t. When we model patience with one another, act with integrity, and work cooperatively to solve problems, we demonstrate the very character we hope to develop in our students.
This year marks my 30th year in education, and my 22nd as a school administrator. I would love to say that every school year I have experienced has begun perfectly and that every first day busing has gone exactly according to plan, but that simply isn’t the case! What I have learned over all those years is that the beginning of school always brings a few bumps, but routines settle in, and things get better. Through it all, what continues to make me smile is walking through our buildings and seeing the amazing experiences our students are having, with teachers who care deeply about them, and friends who make school a place they want to be. There is an energy and sense of community at PACT that is truly special. PACT is an amazing place to be because of everyone who is here: our students, staff, and families. Thank you for your patience, your partnership, and your commitment to making PACT a wonderful place for our students. Here’s to a great year together!
