Homeless Students
We provide support to PACT students and to the families who are experiencing homelessness or who are facing housing instability.

Who Is Considered Homeless?
A student can be classified as homeless if they do not have a fixed, regular, and adequate place to sleep at night, which applies to students who:
- Live in emergency or transitional shelters
- Live in motels, hotels, trailer parks, or campgrounds
- Live in places not meant for regular housing
- Live in cars, parks, abandoned buildings, or bus/train stations
- Are staying with relatives or friends due to loss of housing
The Homeless Liaison identifies children and young people in such cases and provides them with support.
McKinney-Vento Act
The McKinney-Vento Act grants homeless and highly mobile students certain rights that help them remain in school and keep up with their studies. According to this law, students have the right to:
- Attend school, no matter where they're currently living
- Stay in their school of origin, or enroll in a new local school
- Get transportation to their school of origin, if that's in their best interest
- Enroll in school immediately, without delay
- Attend classes while school records and documents are being transferred
- Fully participate in school activities
- Access the same programs and services as every other student
