Dr. Bronson Presents Flexible Skill Model to National Audience

Dr. Lara Bronson, Elementary Principal, represented PACT Charter School at the National Council of Teachers of English–National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTE-NCTM) Joint Conference, held August 3-5, 2026, in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Dr. Bronson's presentation, "Where Joy Meets Precision: Flexible Skill Grouping in Elementary Reading and Math," introduced national and international educators to PACT's flexible skill model. This approach challenges and supports each student, providing responsive, data-driven instruction tailored to individual growth goals.

Attendees responded enthusiastically. Many educators agreed that flexible, responsive instruction increases student engagement, improves teacher planning, and enhances academic success. Educators from New York, Pennsylvania, Jamaica, and Missouri remained after the session to ask questions and share their experiences, leaving inspired to advocate for a similar model in their schools. 

During her presentation, Dr. Bronson emphasized the people and structures that enable PACT's approach: its leadership team, teachers, families, students, and the communication pathways connecting the Professional Learning Community (PLCs), Building Leadership Teams (BILT), and the Instructional Cabinet. She also highlighted PACT's strong commitment to family partnership.
